Piety Hill Musings

The ramblings of the Rector of St. John's Episcopal Church of Detroit. Piety Hill refers to the old name for our neighborhood. The neighborhood has changed a great deal in the over 160 years we have been on this corner (but not our traditional biblical theology) and it is now known for the neighboring theatres, the professional baseball and football stadiums and new hockey/basketball arena.

A bishop from Sudan speaks

The Church in Sudan is persecuted: War, Famine, Islamic Jihad.

The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the Church!

Here is a faithful bishop speaking at the Lambeth Conference. Too bad so much time is going to have to spent talking about ECUSA and other Western Church's unfaithfulness....
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake - not SELF-righteousness sake (ie..something that makes yourself more comfortable or happy, instead of sacrifice for His sake!...)
