Piety Hill Musings

The ramblings of the Rector of St. John's Episcopal Church of Detroit. Piety Hill refers to the old name for our neighborhood. The neighborhood has changed a great deal in the over 160 years we have been on this corner (but not our traditional biblical theology) and it is now known for the neighboring theatres, the professional baseball and football stadiums and new hockey/basketball arena.

Sorting out the news from England

I gleaned this from the Telegraph (London) paper which explains the timetable, and a glimmer of hope for repentence, or perhaps our Lord will return first!

"The church's drafting group is now likely to draw up legislation which will bring in women bishops, by 2014 at the earliest, with only an as yet unwritten national code of practice to cater for those who firmly believe the Bible teaches that bishops must be male, as Jesus and his apostles were.
However those who oppose women bishops say their views must still be taken into account, and pointed out that a two-thirds majority will be needed for the legislation to be agreed in two or three years' time"
