Piety Hill Musings

The ramblings of the Rector of St. John's Episcopal Church of Detroit. Piety Hill refers to the old name for our neighborhood. The neighborhood has changed a great deal in the over 160 years we have been on this corner (but not our traditional biblical theology) and it is now known for the neighboring theatres, the professional baseball and football stadiums and new hockey/basketball arena.

Lambeth heating up...

Not just the weather. Rather, there intial report of the Windsor Continuation group, which has been working on a way forward in defining and reforming the Anglican Communion (and what it means to be a communion). It doesn't look good for those in the Episcopal Church who would like to continue with Same Sex Blessings and the like. It also makes arrangements for oversight of parishes/dioceses/provinces in disarray due to having to break with those keeping the new religion.

But it is an initial report, and you can guess that the majority of the cadre of 'progressive' bishops and their lobbying groups have been working late into the night to figure out how to influence their indaba groups and to derail the process.

But if they can't - they will probably find a fancy way to say they will agree, and then disregard it.

Pray, Pray, Pray for the Church, for the bishops, and for resolve to take the chastening we need...we all need if we are be valid 'sons'.
